I will not even write what Urban Dictionary thinks a Nor'easter is. For this blog's purpose, it is a large rain or snow storm on the east coast.

the latest

A lot has gone on the month and a half that we have lived here and I do not want to spend too much time trying to catch things up to speed. I will just start with this weekend. Yesterday we went to Mann Orchards, a place in Methuen, MA. Yes, an orchard in February. There was nothing to do outside, but there was quite a large marketplace inside the building. Some goods Mann's makes themselves and others that they merely sell there. Amongst a few of the things we bought there (thanks to a Groupon I purchased a couple weeks ago) were apple pie with crumble top, cashews, black bean and corn salsa, fingerling potatoes, yukon gold potatoes, purple potatoes, apple cider and much more. Yum yum!

After going to the orchard, we decided to go out for a movie. Given the options, we agreed on seeing the Fighter, which is actually based in the city we live in. How strange to watch a movie and recognize where it has taken place! Based on experiences I have had here with people, I would say the movie accurately portrays what Lowell is like for most people here, even down to the mannerisms and accents.

Earlier in the day, I also walked to my favorite store, Humanity. Since I was paid this weekend, I bought a pair of shoes. Aren't they cute?

keep on posting

I wanted to continue writing, but I wanted to preserve what I had written that was just about Alaska in one space. This is my new place to write after moving across the country and to the Lower 48. It took some time to think about, but I am glad I created another space to write.
